We need your help! N/a'an ku se's latest orphan needs a name...

Last week, our partner charity in Namibia rescued a tiny orphan cheetah cub, and we need your help giving her a name! Keep reading below...

Found alone, her mum nowhere in sight, in the vicinity of Otjiwarongo in Namibia’s north (close to Okonjima Lodge), a tiny cheetah cub was on the verge of certain demise this week. AfriCat Namibia immediately leapt in, leaving her safely in a capture cage for the night in the area where she was found, hoping that her cries would lure her mother back into the vicinity. But it became starkly clear that she had most likely been orphaned. And once again the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary, with the collaboration of AfriCat, opened its arms to an animal requiring expert care and dedication. A thorough medical examination revealed no injuries, and a hearty meal of chicken and formula milk soon had our cherubic cheetah, aged approximately 8 weeks old, slip into soothing slumber. This little one will now be raised at N/a’an ku sê and, as with all of our animal inhabitants, her natural instincts will be nurtured and encouraged and we will do our utmost in providing her with the best possible future.

Little Girl, as we'll call her for now, is doing well. The latest update from N/a'an ku se tells us "she is so tiny and gorgeous and quite feisty. But of course incredibly sad that she has lost her mum - I am sure she is still mourning her. The other day I saw her eat an huge bowl of chicken so we know she has a good appetite."

We are huge supporters and advocates of our partner N/a'an ku se, and this wee one has stolen our hearts, so we thought we'd hold an online fundraiser for her and give YOU the chance to give her a name!

From now until 17th June (the day before I leave for Africa), everyone who donates a minimum of AUD$10 has the opportunity to suggest a name for her. Then on 3rd July myself and the team at N/a'an ku se will pick our top 3 names and let you guys vote for your favourite one! Sounds fun huh?!

You can submit your name suggestion in the notes section during checkout in Paypal, by leaving a comment on this blog post, by sending us a Facebook message or by emailing us: hello@felinefoundation.org
